Insurance Agency Advisor is a resource run by me, Teh Chen, and some of my trusted friends and colleagues, to provide you, the new, emerging, and growth oriented agent with training, advice and tips to increase sales, retain more clients and differentiate from competition.
Whether it's changing buying behaviors, healthcare reform or potential changes, rapidly emerging VC backed digital P&C and benefits agencies, large payroll companies stealing insurance clients, or the high volume of M&A activity, it's safe to say the insurance industry is rapidly changing and it's not going to stop any time soon.
The good news is that we live in a time where we are filled with resources and information at your fingertips to help you potentially navigate these changes. The bad news is also that we live in a time overloaded with resources and sometimes misleading information. How to you choose between Facebook ads, SEO, or email marketing when you are busy running an agency? How to you hire the right producer or make the right decision on the right general agency, or cluster? How do you even know where to start?
This is why I started insurance agency advisor. My simple goal is to provide strategies, advice and tips for you, the new, emerging and growth oriented insurance agents to be more successful and profitable, and hopefully save you time, money and needless frustration.
Let me share with you a little about my background. I am a number one best selling author with over 20 years of successful sales and marketing leadership experience. Most recently, I was the head of business development and national distribution for an insurtech carrier. I've also led the Southwest region and strategic partnerships for a national P&C carrier, responsible for a nearly $300 million book, the largest in the company. My teams distributed through independent P&C agents, and alternative distribution, including life and health agencies. I've also successful turned around sales teams at Paychex to become top 5%, and led the West Coast launch for a payroll/HR software startup. I am also a consultant and advisor to insurtech startups and insurance agencies.
More importantly, you should know that I am a nerd. I love learning new trends, strategies, and technology. Many of the ideas I will share is through personal experience, or rather, experiments, both success and failure. Instead of you wasting time with research, burning money with the wrong tactics, and enduring needless frustration from trial and error, I've already done it for you. Also, you won't just learn from me. I will bring in my trusted peers, mentors and colleagues that are subject matter experts in different areas so you can get a complete perspective to help you achieve your goals.
I'm happily married with four amazing kids. They are my life and my motivation. I will often speak of them and share our journey with you. I know that you also have your own motivation that drives what you do. My goal is to help you achieve your dreams and goals, so you can go enjoy what really drives you. I hope you will share your journey and successes with me. I may even feature you in an upcoming blog.
